Angela's Story
Read the Transcript
My name is Angela. I spent 11 years in the orphanage, because my family did not have a job and we had nowhere to live. My grandmother decided to take us, and we lived with her — in her two-room apartment we lived ten people. The apartment had no heating and no water.
One day my family decided to put me in the orphanage, because they couldn't take care of me. The teachers were really bad with me and with other kids. When I turned 16, I had to leave the orphanage. I didn't know where to go and what to do, because nobody wanted to help me.
But one day I heard about an amazing family, the Camerons, who built and gave hope for kids like me. I went to meet them, and after that my life has changed completely. The opportunity that they gave me gave me a spark of hope for my future.
The Orphan's Hands — it's not just a spark of hope for me, but for all the hopeless out there. I was full of fears, but now I am free.
