Bringing Hope. Mending Hearts. Changing Lives.

At the age of 16, for years orphaned teens have been pushed out of the familiar confines of their orphanage, equipped with nothing more than the clothes they wear and the solitary bus ticket to a town noted on their birth certificate. Left defenseless and alone, these orphans and impoverished teens often fall pray to the predatory schemes of human traffickers.

It’s in these critical and dire moments of vulnerability that Orphans Hands intervene, providing hope through a warm bed, nourishing meals, ongoing education and above all, an introduction to the love of Christ.

From Orphans to Sons and Daughters

"If one out of ten of these children graduate, it will be a miracle."

Over three decades ago, these words were uttered by a local government official in response to the first home started by the Camerons. As you will experience through the life-changing testimonies captured here, hundreds of Orphans Hands young folk have overcome their circumstances to achieve great success, to what many thought would be impossible

Discover Vatra Village:

Where hope, healing and community converge to create a sanctuary of safety.

At Vatra Village, our teens live in one of six spacious family homes organized around a community green space. Each home at Vatra is overseen by live-in house parents, who were once orphans themselves. They have found the love of God and are now sharing it with the precious souls in their care.

Over time, our family model becomes a cornerstone, fostering a profound sense of security and consistency essential for navigating through past trauma, abuse and abandonment.

“I will come back. You are not a mistake. If you were born, God has a plan.”

In 1990, Philip Cameron stepped into a bitterly cold orphanage in Romania, greeted by a pungent odor that filled the air. In a dimly lit room, he encountered a sight that would forever change his life: a little boy, Andrew, shivering and covered in his own waste, visibly starving and utterly alone.

Philip picked him up and made a promise that has echoed down through time for the last quarter century: “I will come back. You are not a mistake. If you were born, God has a plan.”

Moved by compassion, Philip and Chrissie did exactly that and welcomed Andrew into their family through adoption.

Today, that same boy, Andrew, plays a pivotal role in Orphans Hands, dedicating his efforts to rescuing orphaned children just as he was once rescued himself.
