A Promise Waiting to Be Fulfilled

A Promise Waiting to Be Fulfilled

When you are consumed with the vision God has given you, it's hard to gauge how far you have come. Every day brings its joys and sorrows, a daily prayer adventure that never ends. And then a team arrives. They see with fresh eyes what God has done, and suddenly you see it too.

Recently a wonderful team from The Healing Place in Shreveport, Louisiana, joined us in Moldova for a week at Vatra Village. Within moments of arriving they fell in love with our kids and felt the warmth, joy, and peace that fill our homes. They met young women who, not long ago, faced rejection, poverty, and shame — but who are now radiant with grace and confidence.

The team went home to home throughout the week. Each night our girls — some of them in culinary school — prepared special meals, and a friendly competition broke out, each house trying to outdo the other. Together they prayed, sang, and served.

They also visited our next great step of faith — Promise House in Ungheni. They rolled up their sleeves to help with demolition and preparation, walking the grounds where these children will soon find peace and belonging. Promise House will become a refuge for children who have nowhere else to turn.

The Final Stretch

As November begins, we face the final stretch of payments for Promise House. We are so close to fully owning this home — so close to opening its doors. Just think: in a cold house, a wee girl lives in fear, where abuse is more common than a warm meal. She doesn't yet know that help is coming. She doesn't know you are reading this, and that together we will rescue her.

In a cold house like this, a child waits — not yet knowing that, by God's help and yours, a warm, clean new day is about to dawn.
Sometimes we don't know the soil in which we sow our seed. I've been honored to see firsthand the richness of the soil of Orphan's Hands and the fruit it bears: life, hope, healing, a future, and most importantly, Jesus.

We are $150,000 from opening the first door at Promise House. A gift of $100 helps cover renovation materials for a child’s bedroom; $250 helps with heating and furniture; $500 brings us closer to opening the doors. Any amount makes a difference. Now is the most critical time — a yes from your heart will free a soul from a lifetime of suffering.

Help us change futures.

When you give to Orphans Hands, you're igniting hope in hearts who have yet to experience it.
